Syren Rivers pushes the boundaries of RnB/Soul. Born in London, Syren started producing and performing music at a young age. He quickly learned the ropes of recording and began opening for various artists like Busta Rhymes, Jodeci, Redman, Ike Turner and James Brown. He has performed at the amateur night at the Apollo (winner) in Harlem, Glastonbury & Womad festivals, The Barbican, Blue Note Tokyo, La Coachella, Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scott’s and beyond.
After writing tracks with Smoke City aka Da Lata and KV5, who charted in the UK, Syren released two No.1 Funky House iTunes downloads, “Signed & Sealed”, and “So Dangerous”.
While also getting play in the UK underground Funky House & RnB club scene, Syren established himself as a freelance songwriter and vocalist for quite a few major labels, top line and ghost writing. This versatile recording artist crosses genres, bringing soul music to drum & bass, house, jazz, hip hop to acoustic folk & afro soul, just to name only a few.
Syren starts the year off with his first release on the esteemed label V Recording – 20th January 2023
“In My Veins” is a collaboration with the talented and highly respected Duo A-Audio and is gaining some great attention in the clubs.
His follow up release was his drum & bass debut album called “Liquid Soul” forthcoming on Fokuz Recordings – 27th January 2023 it’s the second release with Fokuz after his “New Dawn EP”
the album features pioneering tracks from some big producers in the liquid dnb genre such as Edlan (Liquicity), Command Strange, Minos, Sub:liminal, Hiraeth, Phaction, Silence Groove, Drum Origins, M.E.D (Makadena, Emery & Dreazz) & Extermnal Subway.
The most recent release with good friends and fellow collaborators Wipe The Needle is the soulful house track “The Way” and is released on Frankie Feliciano’s label RBL with pending remix by Journeymen.
A prolific writer for new and established artists, Syren uses his experience in the music industry to help others find their sound. His innovative approach makes him an in-demand collaborator in the recording studio and on stage.
